I can sort of understand the message this video is trying to push out about the new Chocolate phone – that it’s really well made. But seriously – flowers for icons? Touchscreens made from ginseng, jujube, sesami (their spelling) oil and salt? Pomegranate for colouring? This does not make me think high-quality manufacturing, LG. No it does not…

Monday, October 19, 2009 at 3:33 PMSerz that is so pathetic, all that money spent on tv ad’s they could of made a phone like no other, instead of the same type of product over and over again, one day you’ll see this phone as a prepaid bundle that kids will buy, what a waste.

Monday, October 19, 2009 at 6:33 PMI think you may have overestimated how much that ad would cost to make, or underestimated how much it costs to bring pioneering tech to market. The advertising budget is dwarfed by development costs for creating a ‘phone like no other’.
I suspect that your irony filters are keeping you from appreciating what is a cute bit of viral aimed at getting a bit of attention from an iPhone obsessed western market… I smiled, and that’s all they’re going for.

The commerical was fun to watch and at the same time it helps LG to stress their asian roots, which could very well be interpreted as the asian world versus the western world dominated by the Iphone and other Nokia smartphones. I think this ad is far more original than most other phone ads, a special commercial for a special phone, the LG Chocolate.
