The US guys had a pretty comprehensive review of the new Dyson Air Multiplier yesterday, but the folks at Dyson have just sent through the Aussie release details and I had to share:
The bladeless fan will be landing on October 21 in two different versions: 25cm for $379, or a 30cm version for $399. Sure, that’s pricey for a fan – but look at it! Look at it and then tell me you don’t want one.

I’d be scared to have the blinds open on a sunny day with that thing near my desk. It looks like it could start a fire.

Reviews so far have indicated that it’s an expensive, noisy, inefficient cooling device, that sounds like a vacuum cleaner while it’s on but barely pushes any wind out.
I think I’ll pass on this one. The Dyson hand dryer on the other hand…

Who the hell would be daft enough to pay $399.00 for a fan, surely no-one in their right mind would. As a matter of interest (don’t really care), where can you get one, just in case I meet someone mad enough to buy one. I would like an immediate reply, please , please oh please.

It seems to be some pretty ducting built around a vacuum drive.
The average punter will lap it up.
Dyson: average engineer, very clever marketer.
