Apple To Support Windows 7 In Boot Camp Before Year’s End

Tossing a bone to Windows 7 on its launch day, Apple updated its help section to announce that Boot Camp will support all versions of Windows 7 before year’s end. But some older Intel-based machines won’t get any Windows 7 love.

Some older iMacs and MacBooks Pro (2006 vintage, with Intel processors) will be unable to support Windows 7 running in Boot Camp for whatever reason — not great news, unfortunately. Apple also adds that Boot Camp will need a software update before it officially supports Windows 7. But for owners of recent Apple hardware, it may soon get a lot easier to install Windows 7 using Boot Camp. [Apple via Engadget via Mac Rumors]

That’s okay, older imacs and macbooks also can’t support osx leopard. Never seems to upset anyone, as we all know mac users are expected to buy a new one every year.
