It’s pretty basic language, but this video from Alcatel Lucent actually does a pretty good job of explaining to the general populous why we need a National Broadband Network. Although personally, I’m waiting for those holographic technologies they mention towards the end of the video to be unleashed… “Help us National Broadband Network – you’re our only hope!”

I think it’s great that they were able to get Eric Bana to do the voiceover for this… ;P
(What do you mean it’s not him?!?)

Nice, now go build it (NBN) already so we can connect to it!

I have very high expectations for the NBN. It had better meet them.

“lightspeed”…to the node…then we have to downgrade to wire again…or rewire the house to take advantage of the fiber optic…
I’m all for the NBN, but lets keep it realistic there guys…
Excuse me while I retro fit my house network with fiber :D

It’s fibre to the premises, not to the node. You will have a plug in your wall for a fibre optic modem to plug into.
It was going to be FTTN, but that would only provide 6mbps so no-one wanted it, now everyone’s welcoming FTTP.
