Stolen In 31 Seconds: 23 MacBook Pros, 14 iPhones, 9 iPods

Quick: How can you get 23 MacBook Pros, 14 iPhones and nine iPod Touches in 31 seconds, for free? Tip: According to this security video, you need four friends, a brick and proximity to the Apple Store in Marlton, NJ.

That’s exactly what five guys did yesterday at 2am, at the Sagemore New Jersey Apple Store, and it all occurred in 31 seconds. When the security guard came, everyone and everything was gone.

good call. fortunately apple has an even greater security mechanism: margins so high that they could stand to have half of their stuff stolen and still turn a profit.

Even the smallest of computer stores here have little metal brackets that you would need to unscrew to grab the laptop out of.

What am I missing here… why did Apple have ZERO physical security on these devices? The official Apple Store in Sydney has everything in the store physically secured to the tables — as you would expect.
