Rumour: Palm’s Cheap Eos “Pixie” WebOS Phone Due Next Week

TechCrunch hears that Palm’s going to reveal Pixie (aka Eos), its second WebOS phone that’s supposedly gonna be small, skinny and cheap, sometime this week, for Fashion Week.

Sorta surprising, since the timing feels weird, not to mention there were rumours it was delayed (granted, how can a phone that doesn’t officially exist really be delayed). But like TechCrunch says, Palm does have a strange sense of timing. [TechCrunch]

They should release it GSM and/or worldphone unlocked direct from palm in a limited fashion, until they get all of the kinks worked out of WEB OS. I love my palm pre, but damn it's a bit limited right now.

Here's what Palm said about it:
"All it takes is a little luck and a little bit of Pixie's dust. Yeah, EAT THAT DUST."

I like the huge screen in the render. The huge home button... not so much.

    but Sprint OBV. yes?

  • Bauhaus

Isn't Fashion Week the obvious place to launch something small, skinny, and cheap?

  • rusty

i would snatch this up in a second if its GSM.

@Faslane: no. word is that its GSM.

This phone looks pretty interesting. I've always wanted a phone with a nice big screen but also a portrait qwerty. Would be nice if they kill the dead space between the screen and the keyboard, though.

im gonna grind it up, put it in a pixie stick, and dump it down my throat.

@Bauhaus: I could make an inappropiate hooker comment but nah.

  • bnetter12

@chefgon: they can't there's the massive home button.

I want an all touch phone with WebOS with just the one button on the front and whatever buttons on the side. Just no physical keyboard.

If this is true, once again they are going to be bumped right up to a big Apple event.
