RIM BlackBerry Bold 9700 (Onyx): T-Mobile’s First 3G BlackBerry
Here’s the first official shot of the 9700 (codenamed Onyx), T-Mobile’s first 3G BlackBerry, which could arrive as early as November. T-Mobile says it’ll support UMA Wi-Fi calling (as part of the carrier’s HotSpot@Home service), visual voicemail, and corporate email.
T-Mobile also confirmed that it will have TeleNav GPS Navigator and Amazon MP3 store pre-installed. The Bold 9700 still hasn’t been made official by RIM, and T-Mobile didn’t preview much more info. However, the assumed specs are listed below. [CIO]

That's nice, T-Mo.
Now give me a better selection of touch screens. Thanks.
@SagunaPhaethon: I just hope my old pearl lasts until this beast hits the streets.

How many times is blackberry going to make the exact same phone?
I can see their product meetings now...
"Ok guys, for our new phone... we're going to make the space bar 0.5% bigger..."
"BRILLIANT! We'll call it the 9700!"

Looks okay but is it a b-boy standin in its b-boy stance. Does it ask you to hurry up and pass the microphone before it busts in its pants.

3G and UMA? I thought there was some sort of technical glitch that wouldn't let the two work together. Apparently not! Excellent.

Finally! I can now say that I have 3G instead of being the only 2.5G guy amongst my Verizon friends.
@killersiafu: Hey. Be fair now. The Storm is pretty different.
But yeah, other than a mix of features like wifi and edge, 3G and no wifi, wifi and 3G, GSM, CDMA, being a world phone, and looking slightly different, all BlackBerries are the same.

My girlfriend just got the 8520, and I can't believe just how good that trackpad is. I seriously can't wait for this phone to arrive, so I can trade in my tired old 8320.
@Jux: at least they're starting to carry a wider selection. remember when the sidekick was the best t-mobile had to offer?
Damn, I should have waited and not paid $400 for my 8900 when it came out.. I didn't know a 3G clone of it with something better than a trackball was right around the corner :(
Oh well, I only use the EDGE for email and Google Maps anyway..

Might have found a replacement for my old Curve. Glad I was able to save it last month after getting it wet so i didn't buy the 8500 curve or 8900..
