First Snow Leopard Patch Released To Developers
Less than a week after the release of Snow Leopard, Apple has already dropped the first patch on developers for testing. The 71.5 MB download includes several fixes related to 3G modems, the Dock and Motion 4.
The 10.6.1 Update is recommended for all users running Mac OS X Snow Leopard and includes general operating system fixes that enhance the stability, compatibility, and security of your Mac, including fixes for:
* compatibility with some Sierra Wireless 3G modems
* an issue that might cause DVD playback to stop unexpectedly
* some printer compatibility drivers not appearing properly in the add printer browser
* an issue that might make it difficult to remove an item from the Dock
* instances where automatic account setup in Mail might not work
* an issue where pressing cmd-opt-t in Mail brings up the special characters menu instead of moving a message
* Motion 4 becoming unresponsive
MacRumors Forums have also included some unofficial notes on the update:
– Network Diagnostics now offers to remove manually-entered DNS values for DHCP configurations
- Software Update for printer drivers of Bonjour/USB printers

So, I guess my hopes of an early fix of Application icon size in the grid is a waste of my time :(
How bout fixing Front Row?!@$
MikeSWelch
@quidsquid: I'd like this too. the icon size is way too big. I'd like to be able to adjust it, like in the finder.
I haven't had a problem with any of these things.
I have, however, had problems installing 10.6 (my MBP's optical drive barely functions, couldn't do Remote Install for some bloody reason), and problems with Expose - one night, it decided that by engaging Expose, what I really meant was reveal desktop.
Both were only problems once, mind, but I think that for people with busted-ass optical drives, making Remote Install a built-in option, without having to make images on USB keys, would be a good idea.
Ever since my update I've had lots of crashing issues with iphoto.

I've had sme odd dock behavior, especially when using high RAM applications. Firefox im looking at you.
@lostarchitect: agreed. Also... the stacks in my dock were acting up.... sometimes they separate or move aside to avoid the mouse as if I were dragging a new folder to put on the dock between existing folders/stacks. Makes it kinda hard to actually click on the stack.
All in all though, I've only seen positive changes (though admittedly minor from the user's perspective). I'm sure the little glitches will be worked out in time. Sad that they couldn't get worked out in betas though.
Anyone else experience any random 5-10 second lockups? Especially while running Safari.

My biggest problem is still Griffin's Firewave software not opening. My system wont let me get surround sound DTS without it.

@LandryPeleus: Agreed - Since installing FrozenP@ssy Firefox is just crashy as hell.

@LandryPeleus: I had the same problem. I did a clean install and it seemed to fix it. I'm waiting to install any plugins though.
only issue I have is that they changed the default gamma settings on the displays. Now all my games are darker than they used to be.
Well.....they were until I went and readjusted the gamma back to 1.8 from the standard 2.2.

@ar7983: Does your firewave emit a high pitched noise when in use? I got mine 7 or 8 months ago but i refuse to use it (which is a shame for my surround sound) because of the problem.

So something that I've always pondered in my peabrain is when Microsoft releases a OS upgrade and it breaks things all hell breaks loose...when Apple does the same thing it's like no big deal, and almost expected.
