BlackBerry Desktop Manager 5.0.1 Features Tethering Option

Doesn't appear to work with my 8310 and ATT.
Tether option disappears after the 8310 is connected. Can anyone else confirm?

@PaddyDugan: Blackberries can already do tethering with no specific carrier authorization, as long as you have a regular data plan.

You can also do this with Verizon downloading the VZ Access Manager application. It will also indicate your data usage.

Ow I got it working last month, it is just a dail in connection to *91# with some init string. This added another BIG advantage to the list of the Bold: removable battery, removable 32GB SD card and roaming 3G Internet with your laptop.

It already proved its value when my home office internet went black for a week during crunch time and I still made the deadline (albeit slower and with more cursing).

yeah thats all fine and great but when is OS 5.0 coming out? Like honestly! Its been what, 6 months since it was first showed off? The day Apple puts a physical keyboard on the iphone I'm out....

We need RIM, Palm, or Iphone to come up with tethering that flies under the carrier's radar. Or better yet, more ubiquitous wi-fi! Data charges chafe!
