Asus UL Series Laptops: Thin And Light, Focus On Battery Life
The new range looks kinda suave, and Asus claims some models get up to 12 hours of battery life. How? They all use Intel’s latest ultra-low voltage processors, and let you switch between dedicated and integrated graphics.
I’m generally not a fan of Asus keyboards, so I’m interested to see how the new chiclet style keys feel in use. Likewise for the flush multi-touch mousepad that let you perform Macbook-style gestures (like pinching).
Here’s a quick look at how the series breaks down:
• 12-1.-inch screen: UL20A
• 13.3-inch screen: UL30A
• 14-inch screen: UL80V, UL80Ag
• 15.6-inch screen: UL50A, UL50Ag, UL50Vg
The UL series supports Windows 7, and should be available around the time of its arrival on October 22. No word yet on pricing. In the meantime, you can check out full specs at: [Asus]

@Dafrety: Only one model each of the 14 and 15 inch variants actually have it, a Nvidia 210M.
Wow the UL80V could be pretty sexy if it comes with a reasonable price tag, dedicated graphics + ULV would be a serious win for me. Will have to keep an eye on this.

I doubt it will reach 12 hours of life. LIES!

I love how the switching graphics is starting to show up in laptops now.
i have a U80v with the chiclet style keyboard and i can definitely say that it can compare with the macbook pros, though i guess the macbooks feel a bit sturdier. (i've compared with my roommate's)
Voohoo
Pinching is the pretty sexy maneuver but I rarely use it ... I can't live without being able to scroll using the 2 fingers, etc. Are those retained?

The multitouch keypads have been on Eee PCs for a long time. So have the chiclet keyboards: they're great to type on.
