I have to pay thousands of dollars anyway to have healthcare and our current system is corrupt(Pharmaceuticals) and wasteful. Watch Sicko or watch the Nova version... I live on the Canadian boarder. Our city has a regular Wal-Mart. Nothing special, no Supercenter around for about 35 miles. We have a supermarket here owned by some big chain (Price Chopper). A Lowes. Several dollar stores.

The Canadians... have overrun... the city. They flock here to shop at low-end stores and rack up as much food and crappy Chinese items they can to bring back to Canada.

The only activity I ever saw them seriously engage in was drinking of the beer and smoking of the cigarettes, and they were VERY serious about both of those activities. We're (Canadians) afraid of our "Nazi Healthcare" system so we need to keep in tip-top shape. Got to keep the bureaucrats from coming to our doors with their scythes.

In Boston on a vacation, I rarely saw fatties, oddly enough. The downtown area is all walk-friendly, which contributes to passive excercise. Same deal over near Harvard. Didn't go to Fenway though ;)

In both Canada and America, it is my belief that the suburbs are what's making ppl fat. When you gotta drive to go to the fastfood/donut store.... :/
