Teacher Confronts Student Armed With Bombs, Chainsaw, Sword
No doubt weighed down by his arsenal of 10 pipe bombs, a chainsaw and a sword with a 0.6-metre blade, a disturbed 17-year old’s plan to wreak havoc in a San Mateo, CA high school was thwarted by a teacher.
Shortly after two pipe bombs were detonated in Hillsdale High School, English language development teacher Kennet Santana tackled the boy—pinning him down with the help of a few other members of the faculty until the police arrived. Not surprisingly, the kid is being described as “quiet”, “shy” and “reclusive”. It’s always the person you least suspect, as they say, but you never hear about the loud, outgoing class clown going all leatherface on his classmates. [SFGate]

He probably plays video games too, though without guns they are going to probably point at him being fixated on Bomberman!
At least he got some attention from his teachers in the end… zing.
hahahah that was good!
Back in high school, I could have been “described as “quiet,” “shy,” and “reclusive.”” But the thought of doing something like this NEVER crossed my mind.
It makes you wonder just what drives them to do it.
I agree. There are many people like this – I just don’t know what drives them to it like you said
“They said the boy nursed a grudge against some teachers and students from his time at Hillsdale”
And now it’s just going to fester and grow whilst he’s in jail for the next 10 years…
