1. People shouldn't be put on death row unless it is irrefutable evidence confirming their guilt. When there is doubt, but most people are 90% sure or greater, put 'em in jail (I believe all jailed criminals should be bought/sold to work as extremely cheap labor in order to pay for their incarceration - this would create 2 million plus instant 'slaves' available to help us fix our roadways, work in factories, be forced to do the jobs that illegal aliens do for us, but at a fraction of the cost it would normally cost - this would be GREAT for our failing economy!!)

2. Once determined to be guilty of death, give 'em ONE YEAR for all repeals/bullshit, then take 'em out into public and shoot 'em in the head. Why waste a perfectly good morality lesson here??? :^))

We spend so much money trying to determine how best to build the next prison and how best to put people to death for their crimes. We spend money on police who rarely, if ever PREVENT crime. The fact that they would have no jobs if crime was actually prevented might just be a conflict of interest.

@The5thElephant: Honestly, what you said is a remarkable statement. His guilt would be a tremendous burden to bear if he were of a healthy, sound mind. But at such point, what would be the need for punishment? He would be fully rehabilitated as a functioning, potentially positive member of society and not at all the person he once was.

This also begs the question, what's the point of punishing anyone at all? If such actions really only arise from unhealthy, or 'sick', psychologies, and healthy, sound minds produce positive actions in society, shouldn't the goal be rehabilitation and not punishment?

Any psychologist will tell you, the vast majority of pedophiles, child abusers, and sex offenders were themselves victims of such crimes when they were young. Meaning that they are in some form or another mentally ill. And it seems almost cruel and pointless to punish the mentally ill as opposed to trying to heal their mind for the benefit of all.

Don't get me wrong... when I heard about this guy my gut reaction was the desire to kill him myself (not that I would commit such a crime)... but I'm just saying, he sounds pretty f-ed up and tortured. It'd be interesting to find a way to rehabilitate him in such a way that he became a powerful force for positive change and healing in our society.

Wouldn't the worst punishment be to somehow make him sane and then let him remember all the things he did. Guilt/shame to that degree might be worse than any form of physical torture we could do to him.

Electrical fields and magnetism drop off extremely rapidly (inverse square law), so much so that even the homeopathic fields that claim magnetism is good for your blood are seriously flawed from a medical and scientific standpoint.

In order to externally control, and modify, sound waves using only your mind, you'd need to project a wave at least equally, if not more powerful, and with a wave that amplifies (or cancels out) the existing waves. This type of modulation, if done mentally, would require hitherto unknown fields that the brain is not capable of projecting based on physics that our universe doesn't support.
