
The $US350 WX1 also includes the HX1′s swanky Sony G Lens, to date only otherwise seen in digital SLRs and high-end camcorders. The camera has a 5x optical zoom, 2.7-inch LCD, and goes on sale in October. Meanwhile, the $US380 TX1 has a slimmer design, 4x optical zoom and 3-inch touchscreen LCD. It’ll be available in a range of colours this September.
Both cameras also record video at 720p HD (MPEG-4 @ 30fps) and include a new Twilight mode that automatically combines shots at various exposures to produce more dynamic low-light photos. [PC World and CNet]
