damnit, no plain clear? i have a clear ds lite i modified with a similar kit and i've been waiting to upgrade for one to come out...

@VenomIreland: as compact as the DSi case is, could you fit anything else in there, even a few LED's?

@fuchikoma: I'm with you. Did the exact same thing, and it seems they actually -bend- the laws of physics to get the little components in there. It's to be expected with Nintendo, I guess.

It looks like it's internally illuminated in that shot in the form of LEDs, but after reading the site it would appear that's not the case.

i've seen quite a number of color schemes for the DS, but this has got to be one of the nicest ones out there.

Warning... I'm very comfortable inside electronics - I've modded my PSX (4-wire) and PS2 (17-wire), and completely disassembled my PSP to clean it after it got dunked in water... but doing a case transplant on a DS is particularily hellish and finicky. I would not do it again. I ordered a crystal clear case for a DS lite, and it was actually physically impossible to fit the DS into it, but in the process, the power switch's sub-1mm slider broke off, and after repairs, it never worked again for some secondary reason...

I find this to be rather gaudy. I remember liking clear cases back when the Gameboy color came out with one, but for some reason after my preteen years I started to dislike them.

This is awesome but I'm too lazy to do it myself so if I see someone in public with one, I'm going to jack them for it on the spot.

Awesome. Has anyone tried this out yet? I would love to know how easy it is to do. Doesn't seem too hard if all I'm doing is moving guts from one case to another. This would also be perfect so that I could paint the cases myself. DSi here I come!

that's pretty slick.. although i'd enjoy something more organic like guts and inner body parts printed on the inside of the plastic to make it look alive
