@ab3: Australian maps are upside down?? I think someone has been winding you up. Everyone uses North as 'up' on maps. Even Australians refer to their home country as 'down-under' when they're in the Northern hemisphere. It's not supposed to be an insult.

As for the "everything's upside down" joke, I'm sure they make the same joke about us as it has nothing to do with whether or not you are on the 'top' or 'bottom' hemisphere. It's just relative.

Oh America and Canada don't care about baseball? In fact, these two countries are pioneers of cricket. The first international cricket game ever was played was played in New York between USA and Canada in 1840s, which USA handily won.

@ab3: Considering that the vast majority of those who actually sailed, and thus plotted, the world came from the Northern Hemisphere (Vikings, Chinese, Phoenicians, Brits, Portuguese, Dutch, French, Italians) I would give them the right to decide the orientation of maps - which was done a very long time ago. North is and always will be viewed as being upwards, some Australians (no matter how much I like you) will every change that.

Its just like the Soviets and others refusing to base time off of Greenwich Mean time and using Moscow time instead. It's complete bullcrap; whoever develops the idea first should have the right to have their's universally implemented as long as it is the most efficient.

@Dabamash: Uhhh I don;t think so, it probably has more to do with the fact that maps in Australia are upside down compared to most of the world because there really is no right direction for the orientation of Earth, so people in the Northern Hemisphere tend to make themselves at the top and people in the Southern Hemisphere tend to make themselves at the top. So basically to us (aka civilized folk in the US and Britain) their maps are upside down.

They've conveniently blurred or obscured the buttons which do not have rotational symmetry, like the channel and volume buttons, as well as the Play/Pause Button. Also, they forgot to flip the FF and REW Buttons - technically they ARE a vertical flip (over the X axis) but all the others are rotations (on the Z axis).

For those who don't understand, this is clearly a joke regarding us brits calling australia "down under" and therefore upside down. I don't know if SKY is actually doing this, but it's pretty funny if they are.
