@Baldyman1966 is Holding out for a Hero: Nice to see you too.
@bowser5:
Hack away then; T-Mobile/Google is not going to push Hero to G1s because the device barely has any RAM and not matter how much you optimize it your phone will lag into oblivion.
@krztov:
Hero is nice but I can't live without Bluetooth. Nesquick or Beer to whoever gets it working for sure!
@krztov: Nice to see a growing contingent of XDA savvy Android users here.
@Lazzzara: yeah i love my hero build, just got the one that leaves off the rosie interface, its the most stable so far, since i care more about the facebook/flickr/other os upgrades as opposed to the rosie home screen, its much faster than the rest.
@Tony Bostony:
Well, it might be.

@chefgon: It is nice in the HTC Gallery, so you can zoom in on pics. Not to mention the other benefits of the Hero firmware...not just multitouch

@tande04:
That's right mofo. Someone up in this place is insane. And it ain't us.
Tony Bostony
@Timothy Collins: Well, t-mobile isn't AT&T and calling AT&T cingular is like calling Russia the USSR.
So you've got more then two problems going on there.

@Lazzzara:
It's pretty easy to hack in. Most hacked firmwares have been rocking a multitouch browser since well before the Hero firmware came out.
Personally, I don't really give a damn about multitouch web browsing (I almost never have to change the zoom level on any sites I visit), what I'm really hoping for is an SDK refresh that allows multitouch on third party apps. That would really open the door for game emulators on touch-only phones.

@ratheen: U need to have a rooted device. The Rogers Magics seem to work the best, vs the Vodafone ones. The RAM is higher on some versions of the Magics and it handles the Sense UI better. There is a magic specific thread here:

Its pretty big but you be able to figure it out. As for dream users, take a look under the Dream section of [forum.xda-developers.com] Good luck!

@lostlikeme: Two problems with that post : T-Mobile is AT&T and I have my G1 running on AT&T's Cingular network already...
Timothy Collins
@lostlikeme: I have android running on my AT&T Tilt.

OOooohhh now I'm gonna be too excited to sleep for the rest of the year until I get these updates :D
I hope one of these updates bring multitouch and better wireless network management
how about an android phone on a network besides t-mobile. hero on at&t please!

@Lazzzara:
how did you get the hero firmware on it ?
ratheen
I will hack mine for sure if the Hero firmware doesn't make it to the G1
bowser5
... and we know anything about what are they sopposed to fix/add to the current android os??
sata
Multi-touch browser and flash support?
I will cry if I can't upgrade and keep the benefits of the Hero firmware.
Lazzzara
Whew. Now I can sleep at night.
Okay.
