Just got my 3GS on the 3 plan - they were doing a over-the-phone deal for the ppl who had expressed interest in the phone for the 16GB @ $25 per month for 24 months with 1GB data per month. I figured this was a lot better than getting the 32GB for $45 per month and after reading the reviews that ppl recommended the 16GB is big enough.
Can anyone help though - i've just noticed that my phone is constantly roaming at work cos the signal on lvl 15 in the CBD on 3 is seemingly pathetic - if i browse for a few minutes i'm going to get charged massive amounts of fees right???

The iPhone won't roam onto Telstra if it has a 3 signal available. Since I got my iPhone 3G, I have never seen it roam. I have had other phones roam all the time, including when there's a perfectly good 3 signal available.

Plus, even if it does roam, you can disable roaming data so it won't cost you any more.

When I was with 3, my phone was on roaming networks like 90% of the time (which 3 charge you a mountain of cash for), and the service you get from the 3 shops is like having to pay for being kicked in the nuts several times.

So I don't think I'll ever go with back with them, especially not when it involves iPhone or other smartphones.

This sounds good: For only $110 p/m you'll get 3000 minutes of calls, 500 SMS/MMS and 3GB's of Mobile Internet every month.Choose between the iPhone 3GS 16GB for free or the iPhone 3GS 32GB for only $5 p/m.

For someone whos been with three since it stated in Australia, not really very happy. I expected better deals. For now, I am not going to change my phone. Perhaps in about a month or two, when the prices start to drop down a bit..
