@thePrototype: i love the smell of Water Displacement Formula 40
@thePrototype: The ex girlfriend would make me cover up ANY tiny light in the bedroom so it could be pitch black for her to sleep. Although electrical tape is a far better solution mine was dirty socks I left on the floor.
The best thing, and the thing with the most impact was when Sony developed the first Trinitron TV - they essentially re-invented the television and that started the TV technology revolution.
I hated working on them when I was a TV tech because the circuitry was so different compared to a 'conventional' TV. BUT you can bet I owned one at the same time.
@Nick: My island name is Nicko: WD40 takes that residue right off, without ruining any of the finish :)
@VenomIreland:
sure does and that crazy 1,000,000:1 contrast ratio
gecko7jlk is enjoying the killzone 2 map pack
@OpenPotion: i hate electrical tape because of the residue it leaves.
@Nick: My island name is Nicko: Thank goodness for black electrical tape...
@Nick: My island name is Nicko: tell me about it, the bright green and blue lights on the ps3 piss me off, i prefer the soft pulsating light on the front of MBP.
One cool thing about that betamax? It had a remote. The remote was basically a big tethered switch with one button: PAUSE.

Squeee! I've been waiting all week for a picture of that Betamax to show up. MY FIRST VCR! *sniff*

@thePrototype: thank you maam. i don't think it was gone for any particular reason. it was just gone.
well, we switched from vcr to dvd before cell phones began replacing watches. but yeah, i hate bright lights on electronics.
@VenomIreland: Wow, that OLED has some incredible pixel density!
From one miserable failure (Betamax) to something that's an immense success (Blu-Ray).
@Nick: My island name is Nicko: really?? clocks everywhere drive me nuts (especially in a dark room when they are giving off lots of glare), that is what my cell phone is for.
ps. congrats on getting the star back
i hated how DVD players didn't have a digital clock. that was the one feature i missed when we made the switch from the vcr.
Stackability is a feature in televisions? Damn, I've been buying them for all the wrong reasons.

XEL-1 doesn't do 1080p.
@thePrototype: And what gets the smell and residue of WD-40 off?
Those top-loading analog dial VCRs were awesome at getting free porn off cable.
Well, sony lost on Batamax, but won on Blu-Ray. I'm still on the fence about thei A/V components (separate monitors, tuners, players, ect.)- I think that's the way it turned out in the end, no matter what plans they had.
