The Nokia N97 Versus A Golf Club

I am not that impresessed, well after you see a phone being hammered, this looks like something my iPhone could resist...

Used to have a Casio Gz'One or whatever. I used to throw that thing into walls whenever I would get angry. I could probably have hit it with an actual golf swing without doing to much damage. Downhill mountain biking was was did the screen in. It can still make and receive phone calls though. Btw, that bike accident happened last year...... And my knee hasn't fully recovered either. But that Nokia doesn't appear to be in good shape and the screen looks cracked after the golf club.

I'm not sure if it is shattered. Its out of focus so its hard to tell. It could just be water on the screen, the grass looks fairly wet.

Correction, that was supposed to be 'wasn't shattered'...

Cuz the market for candy bar tough phones is really big right now...

I can understand that. Every time I hear that stupid ringtone, I want to hit the offending phone with a golf club as well.

These tests would only be useful if the phone landed on something hard (concrete, pavement, etc).

Nearly as disappointing as the Matrix sequels. I apologize for bringing them up.

In science class we call this "big fucking deal".

I'd like to see a baby withstand that sort of test.

Also, I don't think I'd ever tee off my phone, so I think the chip test is good enough for me!

And why would kicking your phone like that onto grass be a big deal? Any non-flip phone should be able to handle that easy. Not impressed.

Um... that's not an N97 they're abusing, it's just some Nokia S40 dumbphone. The N97 is the phone they're calling the abused phone with :P

@Solertia: Agreed, an iron actually scoops it up and launches it more than just impacting it like a driver would. These tests aren't actually that extreme at all.

@Dragonis: The fact that he waves the phone quickly in front of the camera. Also he holds it at an angle which obscures the display. This all leads me to continue supporting my original assessment of the screen being shattered..
