RunPee, The Guide To Movie Bathroom Breaks, Comes To IPhone

RunPee, that great website that tells you precisely the best time to run and pee during a movie so you don’t miss anything good, has taken the next step and released an iPhone app for quick reference.

The RunPee app features a countdown that lists all of the most opportune times to dash away, and like the site, it’ll tell you what happened during your pee break. We’re a little bit iffy on people constantly whipping out their iPhones to check anything during a movie, but hopefully this won’t lead to any extra film-watching rudeness. The app is available now (link will open iTunes) for $US1. [Mashable via Lifehacker]

@deanbmmv: As long as you can keep innocent bystanders safe, I recommend a warning of "Down in front!" followed by the judicious application of water pistols.

This app is a dollar too expensive.

Need to piss during a movie? There's an app for that...

Whatever happened to manning up and just holding it? It's only an hour or two at the most.

@brcreek: Slow motion Megan Fox boobie jiggling...How can you be disappointed you didn't miss that?

run pee for grindhouse: "leave at the opening titles to deathproof...and dont come back till the credits"

My question is, does it download and save the information when you open the app, or do you always need network access? Because I rarely have any cell service at all in the movie theaters we go to. Then again, maybe it's just me... cause I always hear other people's phones ringing. Hmm.

The developers had to give it a yellow color scheme, didn't they?

    @deanbmmv:
"Loo" "Cinema"...Oh you crazy brits...yes... I'm just messing with you for fun.

I wonder how much functionality it has... I haven't downloaded it, but it would be cool if you tapped on the thing when your movie was starting, and it would vibrate in silent mode when the ideal bathroom break is upon you, allowing you to avoid taking out your phone in the middle of the dark theater. Then maybe a little sentence explaining the key dialog that you're missing.

Truth be told, I've left a film to use the bathroom and it really only takes you about a minute if you're on your game.

Finally, a real reason to buy an iphone.

No, if everyone starts using it, just go a minute early,
and while you're washing your hands, ask the incoming crowd what you missed. Of course, if everyone does that...

It will all be great until everyone starts using this app. Then all sorties to the bathroom will be synchronized, and there will be long lines at at the stalls.

Needs GPS directions to tell you which way to turn when you leave theatre #27 at your chosen multiplex to get to nearest toilet. God forbid you walk 1/4 mile down the hallway to get to a toilet only to find out there was one 10 feet in the other direction.

I could have seriously used this App during Transformers 2. Sad to say I had to go piss 3 hours into the movie and I sat there for an additional 4 hours for the movie to end... Okay, so not really, but I did have to go, and I was so disappointed while relieving myself after the movie that I didn't get up during the 45 minutes of Shia Laboeuf and Megan Fox running the obscenely long 1 mile stretch towards Optimus Prime.

This seemed such a good idea. But then I tend to go to the loo before I head out to the cinema.
But yes back to "seemed such a good idea", watching Transformers last week n one guy had his phone out (dunno if it was an iPhone or not, but it was touchscreen) and it illuminated nearly everything, so distracting. Eventually he put it away but he'd had it out for like 15 minutes into the movie I thought he'd never stop.#
[moviestinger.com] - another good Movie site, to see if there is a bit after credits.

This'll save me from just peeing into an empty icee cup at my seat. Good stuff!

  • 92BuickLeSabre

Shoot, I can do this for you right now.

Away We Go - Any time will be exactly the same as any other. What you missed? Twee pop and ironic faux-deep banter.
Crank: High Voltage - It'll take 30 minutes just to explained what you missed. Not that it will make any sense anyway. Just hold it.
Dance Flick, Angels and Demons, 17 Again - Go whenever you want. I recommend you don't actually return to the theater when you're finished.

  • ru486

@92BuickLeSabre: i like the idea of snubbing Dance Flick and other seemingly low-brow films, but then instructing people to "hold it" during Crank: High Voltage.
