Portal Gets Played On An IPhone, Sort Of

OK guys, deep breath. This is a video of Portal being played on an iPhone, and it looks pretty good. But it’s probably not an actual port of Portal.

The video says the demo was made using the Unity Engine, which means they took some Portal assets and made a small demo with them. They didn’t take the full game and squish it onto the iPhone; what you see is probably the entire thing. There’s no way the Source Engine is running on the 3G. Maybe the 3GS, but not the 3G.

In any case, I imagine trying to play Portal using touch controls would ruin the entire experience anyways. Just stick to playing it on at PC/console. [Touch Arcade via Kotaku]

Would be pointless really. You’d have even less control than with a console. Note this cat didn’t even walk around. I’d like to see him run and jump between platforms. Would be good to see what they come up with, however it’s a tad scandalous to be messing with what is arguably the greatest game ever. EVA. :]
