Navigon Launches Lite Satnav App For Australia

navigon-liteLast month, Navigon launched one of the first complete Satnav apps for the iPhone in Europe. Today, they’ve launched a ‘Lite’ version for Australia, with comprehensive mapping, but no turn-by-turn voice guidance. The best part: It’s free.

We saw the same thing in John’s weekly iPhone app roundup from the US a couple of weeks ago.

The app will give you a pretty detailed taste of what using the full-version app will be like, without actually offering the key ingredient – active navigation guidance. So while the Lite version isn’t actually useful, it’s good to know that you can sort of try before you buy the full app when it launches soon.

    Well, it’s not too bad.
Here’s hoping that other nav companies follow suit with ‘demo’ versions of their own software. I for one won’t be shelling out $100+ on an app I’m not able try out before hand.

    Is this still available?
I can’t find it anywhere? Really wanna know what kind of reception I’ll get, so I can get the right kinda mount.
