I would add the ability to;

Forward Texts and send to multiple recipients.
Voice Commands.
Text to Voice.
Text completion.
Ability to configure Auto Complete (type u and it changes it to you and with 1.1 type r and it changes it to are).
Ability to configure and put a timer on the "Lock Screen" and "Lock Phone" features.
Spell Check.
Full Bluetooth capability (beaming objects, etc).
Cancel and Undo.

Those are the only things on my list that are not on yours. Some are obviously more important than others. But all can be added with Apps or Updates.

Also I ignore the naysayers. I don't understand people who just want to bash the phone without even owning it. I got mine on release day and I love it. The things it does are beyond cool and convenient and well thought out. The things it can't do can be fixed by software (except the lack of an SD card and an FM Transmitter :^).

The only thing i don't like is the Music Player. I haven't figured out how to play a whole album in order yet. It's not intuitive. But everyday i'm finding out new features and capabilities (like the ability to view email previews in list view by reverse pinching... That's bad arse...)

Finally, where did you get your background? I love it!

PS: the iphone is a great phone. Even though it has no flash, keyboard or multi app functions, it's still a good phone.

Simple. Because you can run multiple apps at once. This is the first Gen. Updates will fix all of the above. And it's nothing major.

Looks like you guys didn't read the first line of his article: "I love the Pre. . . . it's probably the best phone I've ever owned." He didn't write "23 reasons to hate the Pre," he wrote a list of very observant constructive suggestions to make a great phone even better. Get your hands on a pre and play with it for a while before you dismiss it. Do the early adopters really have to be buying it "for the hype?" If there were not people who bought the products early out of the gate, used them, and then told them how to improve them, then they never would get better, they'd die and early death, and NO ONE would get to use the polished product that would be coming down the line.

Trouble is, everybody seems to think that the Pre had to be everything the iPhone is x's 100 or it was a flop. Nobody wants to give it a chance to grow into itself and get developed by being in the hands of real users.

Needless to say, I have a Pre (but only for a few days now.) It definitely has enough features and enough promise that make it a great phone, and I look forward to everything they will do to make it better.

I agree. This sounds worse than Symbian. My most recent nokia 'upgrade' took away the ability to add a word into the text of an SMS without first adding a dud word and then changing it !!! WTF is with these people wiring this code.

I dont understand how people can go straight out and get one of these products (especially the pre and iphone) with so many annoying 'features' and half-finished code. is it just me or a these people buying for the hype ?

Unless of course they either write reviews for a living or have a well read bog in which case they should get in first and point out why their so crappy before we spend our hard earned.

It seems everytime someone reviews this phone it give me another reason to not get it. I had no idea this phone was so limited. As for a "smart phone" it sounds more "special" than smart.

I am still a bit chapped over the fact that they advertised this phone from the start as a tethered phone, and yanked that feature at the last minute. I will wait for more apps and to see what Verizon offers in January.
