WinMo has always been the bain of the smartphone owner. Look at JASJAM's and the like, great hardware all the issues are with the OS.. active sync and the OS are barely functional.

Smartphone makers rarely customise the OS, so of MS$$ does not support / innovate new features then smartphone owners are generally left with whatever MS$$ version the phone vendor / oem (re)released for that particular model.

The only hope is for something like android where the OS developer is driven to innovate, not just churn out barely modified releases of the same old tired OS, in order to minimise change and/or expense.

If you ask me, Microsoft is retarded!
They controled all smartphones and they did a shit job because there was no competition. Now there is, and they're still shit. Not just is WinMo not finger friendly, its also buggy and lacks some common features that you would expect from a cheap $70 phone. For example if you send a text and there is no reception the phone will just say it couldn't be sent and give up. You have to manually wait til there is reception again to send it. It won't automatically do this. And the alarm doesn't work for me.

I read all this stuff about WinMo being crap, but I kinda ignored it cause I figured how bad could it be? Microsoft is a big company, everyone just likes to hate on them. But no, not long after I bought my HTC Diamond did I realize I had made a mistake.

I can't wait until Android rules the smartphone world

Come on guys, give this to a HTC lover to review. Seen too many Iphone 3GS being reviewed by iphone owners, bout time you gave HTC phones to someone like me who has been using a HTC phone for over 7 years

That's why I am really looking forward to the Hero. The same great HTC build quality and software additions but rather than being based on WinMo it's got a cute little robot hiding inside.
