Lenses being equal, a large format 8×10 piece of film can capture the equivalent of 800 Megapixels. Just saying. But does it matter? Discuss!

I am married to a photographer who has a Canon EOS and a Hasselblad medium format, and she uses both. The Hass is for shots that allow a long window of opportunity, shots that she has already decided on, located, and sussed out. The Canon is for walking around and catching life on the fly. Generally, she shows her digital work as smaller (8×10) prints, and the Hass… well, whatever she wants. Different needs, different cameras. Isn’t that always the way?
