Custom Shaped DS Stylus Stupidity
Using a stylus is annoying enough without spending $US30 on one shaped like Link’s sword. I mean, how uncomfortable would that be?
By the looks of things…very. But if that isn’t your cup of tea there are plenty of other Shapeways designs to choose from: Wiimote, Link’s shield and Pokemon to name a few. Each stylus can also be personalised with tiny, tiny text. If you are looking for a bargain, plastic versions run about $US10. [Shapeways via Kotaku]

It's Shapeways, any 3D modeller can make their own designs and get them printed. I was thinking about doing so until I saw the prices. I'm sooo broke...
@OMG! Ponies!: Coincidentally enough, that's what I used for the longest time when I lost the stylus for whatever iteration of the palm was around in 99 or 2000.

If they can do one shaped like the rod from Phantasy Star Online and hand paint it. I'd consider buying.
Edit: Upon visiting (and having to register to the website...lame) All you can do is pick one of their lame designs and have them put your initials on it. I didn't even see the Wiimote shaped one offered for sale, nor any of the Pokemon...maybe I missed something, either way..not even worth the 10 dollars they're asking for these things..too bad.
The stylus I've been using for years now was carved from a wooden dowel. After getting the general shape i wanted(longer and thicker at the top than a normal one) with the knife, i took some sandpaper to it and smoothed it out and after finishing the end used it on a hard surface to toughen it up and smooth it further. Sticks out a ways from the stylus holder, but It's been the best stylus I've ever used and the best part is that it cost me almost nothing because i already had the stuff i needed.
edit: oh, and personalized text is only a xacto knife away =P

Am I the only one here old enough to look at these and think of the "toothpick" from a Swiss Army Knife?
@rcast1986: They probably also offer a small drill that bores a hole in your console so these stupid stylus-things fit. That or duct tape.

Unless it can fit into the stylus holder, no deal. And 30 bucks is a little on the expensive side.
