Calvin Klein USB Sunglasses Upgrade Your Memory To 4GB

Calvin Klein’s new sunglasses offer up a little storage with your UV protection thanks to a 4GB USB flash drive embedded in the right arm.

Too bad these glasses can’t store the images you see. Last week at the beach I saw some things I would like to remember. Then again, I saw other things that I would reaaaally like to forget. At any rate, they will be available for $US200 this October—just in time for…fall? [Men.Style via GetUSB via Technabob via Geekologie]

@bosskev: Wow, thanks for pointing that out. That earpiece is unforgivable. That reminds me, I need to thank whoever pointed out to me that Megan Fox has toe thumbs. THANK HIM WITH A KNIFE THAT IS.

    @bosskev:

Designers make me laugh and sad at the same time...

...and, uh, wtf was LV thinking? Wait, don't tell me.

    Klein... Calvin Klein.

Finally a way to sneak in a USB drive into the client site!

I'd totally take these if they were integrated into my regular eyeglasses, and maybe had a camera built in, with wink activation.

I usually wear sunglasses when it's hot and sunny outside.

I usually sweat when it's hot and sunny outside

I usually end up with broken electronics when bodily fluids get all over them.

Its funny because when I first saw the title I thought it said they "upgrade your douchebaggery to 4"

Why does Roy Orbison need a USB drive?

I can't think of two things that I lose and/or break more often than thumb drives and sunglasses. I should be able to hold onto these for about a day.

Yes, nobody will notice the pair of sunglasses hanging off the USB port of your laptop.

It should say "just in time for...fail.", I believe.

These are dumb. How do I plug the usb into my car stereo and wear my glasses at the same time? I envision a disembodied arm sticking out of the console while my glasses are hanging off my head at a 45 degree angle.

@Izzy Gardon: And people don't lose their flash drives constantly?
  • RainyDayInterns
They are right up there with the MP3 player/sunglasses...
  • bosskev
@the next Giz story? Curious why they'd want sunglasses where there ain't no sunshine...
  • MaQ
Too nerdy, is anyone that desperate to use it? Totally unpractical

I like where their head's at-

Great I can lose my glasses and my data at the same time.

    Stupid, stupid, stupid. Stupid.

Great, self-breaking sunglasses. I'll keep my 32GB flash drive I got for a sixth of the price on my keychain, thank you very much.
  • Fitzwilliam
I wear sunglasses every day (eye condition), and this idea sounds awesome, but CK is way overpriced; at least Polo, etc, are good quality.

This encapsulates much of my feelings on the topic sunglasses.

i can see no useful purpose for these at all. none.

If Oakley had something like this I'd be all over it.

The combination of their HDO polarized lenses with a 4GB USB flash drive would almost be too much for any one person to handle!

Ok, yeah, I'd probably never buy it..

  • Impul5se
Hmm I would still rather have some Oakley Thumps even if they only have 256Mb of storage

Too bad they look like something straight out of a Family Dollar in 1986.

What does that sweet retro style combined with the "designer" price tag upgrade your douchebaggery to?
  • bosskev
So, take a set of essentially $30 sunglasses, incorporate a $10 thumb drive, and slap a "designer" (*gag me*) name on it--then give it a 500% markup. Yeah, whoever among you falls for this deserves to be fleeced.

Oh, yeah, forgot to say that that ear piece is pretty butt ugly.
  • Izzy Gardon
These would be great except that Calvin Klein's design team seems to forget that people lose their sunglasses constantly.

I'd be more excited if each of the arms had a thumb drive. 8 gigs + some half way decent glasses would be something I wouldn't mind.
  • Guymann
These are actually pretty good looking glasses. 4Gb is big enough to be useful too, so I guess you could say that these glasses are a pretty good product overall. Of course, I don't have any use for them myself. So I guess it's pretty much useless to me. Although, now that I think about it, this would be a good way to sneak a few hours of porn into an Islamic country.
  • switchblade saints
how are you supposed to look cool accessing your files now sans shades? lame.
  • RainyDayInterns
We had a hard time leaving the office with either version of these "enhanced" sunglassess...we are just not cool enough to pull it off.

Not the sexiest sunglasses around in my opinion...

  • nbolmer

Neat. You get to look like an asshole with them on, AND in your computer.

For all those "Look Ma! I'm James Bond!" types out there. I feel like this should have been tied to a 007 movie for perfect marketing potential. Otherwise, this just looks useless.
