Bottleclip Attaches Any Bottle To (Almost) Any Bike
Ah, the hot summer is here. Is there any better way to enjoy it than sitting on the terrace of the Surf Bar, slurping one caipirinha after the other while the sun—and other things—kisses your cheeks. Maybe.
Maybe you can put the capirinha in a regular plastic bottle and attach it to your bike using Matthias Ries’ Bottleclip, then go on a little trip from Brooklyn to somewhere in New Mexico for two weeks. Or maybe just around the block and back into the Surf Bar. In any case, nice little gadget for your bicycle. [Matthias Ries via Mocoloco]

@Kaiser-Machead: Already exists.

That wouldn't fit my bike. It has a square section ( rounded off a bit.. ) curved cross bar...
@hooked-on-tronics: yep, Most of nowadays bikes dont have a straight and thin tube at top. A bottle holder is enough good and fits most sport bottles.

I believe I wired them in "series", so the power goes through both sets of LEDs before heading back to the battery. Since they are 4.5v w/3aaa batteries, they handle the 7.2v just fine. I glued a piece of PVC conduit between them, and screwed into that w/a clamp from an old relfector, which is mounted to the handlebars. A damn good amount of light it throws as well. And it's re-chargeable.
i recently purchased a bike and water bottle holder which won't hold the normal size grocery store water bottles. the salesman said none of the holders he's aware of hold that size.

@Geisrud: So? I don't see how a bottle cage is "sporty" or prevents them from using a bike bottle.
Enough disposable water bottles. It's crap. Old people and families are no excuse for stupidity.
@jibbly: Yeah now that you mention it the straight top tube is pretty rare these days, even on older bikes. A lot more rare than, say, a $5 waterbottle holder that holds almost all bottle types.
hooked-on-tronics
Cheek kissing? I hope you mean my face.
Schtupid product. After a few hard stops, the leverage of a full bottle will weaken the top and snap it off.

@HarroChan: Yo dawg! I heard u like water, so we put a waterbottle on your bike, so you can drink while u ride!

@Geisrud: Most modern comfort and cruiser bikes have a sloping top tube making this bottle holder pretty useless for their stated demographic. "Touring seniors"? Uh yeah, anyone who actually tours will look at this and laugh their asses off.
Product fail. Most likely designed by someone with rudimentary knowledge of bikes.
@SeniorPonzologist_GitEmSteveDave: did you build an LED light or go with the pool-light style?
I've had a camelbak for a while but recenty discovered the hydramax military issue ones. Not only do they hold more (120oz) but you can expand them and carry all kinds of crap with the MOLLE attachments. Plus they have an on/off valve and don't seem to get stinky / filled with crap as easily if you forget to empty them.

@Kaiser-Machead: Yeah, I can imagine it would get broken.
@Geisrud:
try again, it's a touring bike with some aftermarket handlebars. Not too different from the one ernest hemmingway rode. Are you implying Ernest Hemmingway was not a man?
@EpiphyteCorp.: Now we just need something that can safely guard our indo while riding
@raygun: well for one, some of us do have bikes without mounts for them.
@Hello Mister Walrus: I thought as a Walrus you would keep your Baculum safely tucked in your body

Finally I can sip my gin and juice while I stroll the streets on my Huffy
This wouldn't fit my bike as the beams are too thick/oval. My cage is reserved for the battery I use to power my homemade light. For water, I usually use either my CamelBak or my Gerber Hydration pack. 100oz of water and it keeps the sun off my back!
@Hello Mister Walrus: Doesn't count, cuz it's a trike :P

@Jesus Diaz: From the linked article:
why would you want this?

Hello Mister Walrus
@raygun: It's for yo fody (40) fool

@Curves: I'm not clever. I just can't type.

@Geisrud: I actually looked up ceat, thinking it was some clever term that I had not heard of and I just didnt get the joke. :)
There is a basket on the back of that bike already. How much crap do you really need to carry?
@MadCrazy: Certainly not a man's bike.
@Kaiser-Machead: that makes two of us. Hey at least it serves two purposes - securing drinking vessels, and theft deterrant
Yes, I can finally attach NOS to my bike!

Thats a boy bike...
MadCrazy
if only this thing can either hold or make bacon while riding.

@Geisrud: *seat
@raygun: I guess this one allows you to have the classic one and another one. Plus, it looks like you just can unplug, drink, and plug, no caps involved.
Couldn't they just make some sort of plastic clamp that can wrap around most types of bottles? I don't really trust the threading of the bottle and cap to hold it while it's rocking about on a bicycle.
Kaiser-Machead
When I'm riding my bike, I don't want a piranha anywhere, much less that close to the ceat.
@Purple Monkey Dishwasher: Looks like a normal recyclable plastic bottle. It does look like it would swing around and hit your knees. This would not bother me, though - I am used to things between my legs swinging around and hitting my knees. (ba da bum!)
Hello Mister Walrus
What's wrong with a water bottle and cage? Worked for cyclists pretty well so far!
raygun
Sigh, and here I am using duct tape like a sucker.
Kaiser-Machead
What kind of bottle is that?
Also, does this thing swing back and forth and continuously hit you in the knees?
