ActionScript developer James Alliban has himself one of the most impressive business cards you will ever see. It uses augmented reality to generate a 3D video that can be manipulated on screen.
If you happen to be in the same field as Mr Alliban here, I suggest you step up your game (or replicate the idea at least). [James Aliban via Josh Spear via Hack a Day]
please, the reality is your looking AT A SCREEN!
when they start putting chips in our brain to change what we see, then its augmented reality. even VR goggles that don’t give you headaches would be fine.
don’t get me wrong, this is cool tech, the iphone game was cool, and the subway app was cool, but this is just like including a full page photo of yourself as the first page of your resume.
AR is shit hot. I once had a job as a device tester for Orange in the UK. In about 2005 we had one of those bizarre siemens smart phones which had the keys up and down the side for review. It had one of the first AR games on it which literally had you shooting mozzies which suddenly appeared everywhere.. Mindblowing to see for the first time.
