Every time I read a comment about "loading Parallels just to sync my Blackberry" I have to ask myself if people just don't know about MissingSync or are just to cheap to buy it. Honestly... the only thing you need a PC for is updating firmware or restoring... syncing in MissingSync 2.0 is outstanding.

As for those not wanting to deal with the desktop style interface in order to back up your contacts... just use GoogleSync.

Don't get me wrong, I'm stoked about this... but only in the sense of easier firmware updating.

Now!!! The only reason that I got an iPhone in the first place was that my Blackberry would not sync with the Mac. So 3 generations of iPhones later.... Day late dollar short

@MrBangBam: Why should they come up with a unique interface just for their app? I was under the impression that UI consistency was one of the big reasons people preferred Macs. If they're using Cocoa and following Apple's HID guidelines, then it should look and behave like most other Mac apps.

I'm just gonna put this out there: it probably would take 2 months to execute the coding for this if you threw even a small amount of money at your dev team.

Are they trying to say RIM has been in the designing stage for this long?

If they had this when the IPhone first came out I might be using a blackberry instead of an IPhone right now.

@fleebailey33: valid point. but i think that there still are users who need the desktop client. not everyone has a data plan to sync contacts from that computer and what not, so for those users, this would be perfect.

too little too late RIM, we needed Mac software ages ago and that missingsync for blackberry was a complete joke of an alternative.

I'm quite glad I've ditched my curve, it didn't do half the things I wanted to do

@fleebailey33: The pre doesnt have one because they were hoping they could ride on iTunes for free.

At long last, Zune comes to Mac.

@MrBangBam: I don't think it's design laziness, just a set of common UI components. Any device management app in Cocoa will look a little like iTunes, I'd expect .

Kinda wish Blackberry had come up with a more uniquely Blackberry-ish interface. But, I guess simplicity is best...

So I guess now I'll HAVE to upgrade to OSX 10.5, huh? OK.
