ASUS Eee Keyboard Glides Past June Release, Now Set For August

ASUS’s touchscreen PC-in-a-keyboard was expected to land in June, according to rumours direct statements from company executives. That didn’t happen! Prices and specs are presumably unchanged, but the new release date is somewhere in August. [Techdigest via Slashgear]

So they've taken a lesson from Lebedev Studios, that's all.

@prouted: Don't waste your money. This will probably outlive most laptops in battery life before you have to plug it in.

you know, i can't think of anything that i could use this for currently, yet i know i must have one.......

@AreWeThereYeti: Why not? A current laptop battery will power a laptop for maybe 3 hours, so if it's just running a little screen n an Atom I would imagine that number is a fair bit higher.
Just because it's wireless I don't think anyone was expecting it to run forever of magical pixie juice.

I love the concept, but I won't need this unless it's 100% wireless (video + mouse obviously included) running on battery -> maybe I should open a company and produce it ;)

They probably finally noticed the teensy design flaw: what is the point of a wireless keyboard/computer as a remote control if you have to have it plugged into power all the time?? I doubt they can afford to put a big honkin lithium-ion battery in there.
