Android Market Update Notifications Are Broken

This confirms what I suspected this weekend: Android Market’s automatic update notifications are broken. In the meantime, if you’re affected, you have to go to individual app pages to see if there’s an update for the app. At least, that seemed to work for me. [Phandroid]

I expect MORE from a Gizmodo writer.

my auto-update never really worked for me.

    Go to the Market.
    Go to MY DOWNLOADS.
it will move all apps that have updates available to the top of the list.
    voila.
    download.

for me it has never worked right, even before cupcake it would notify me once a week if that. With no way to change how often it checks the market for new updates I believe there is much room for improvement in Market and update functionality.

This is news? It's been broken since Cupcake rolled out. It usually only gives me an app update notification when I log into the Market.

@noone1569: Ive found that Atrackdog is better at doing updates then the built in update system. Then again thats the great part of android, its that people can build apps to do the same thing the system does but better.
