What Is This?

Some kind of circuit board close up? No. A nuclear power plant’s control panel full of gauges and labels? No, that’s not it. The answer will probably amaze you as much as it surprised me.

According to NASA, these are roads and circular fields in the Egyptian desert, as photographed from the International Space Station. I don’t know about you, but I swear I saw labels printed there. [Boston.com]

    If you watch the film Home that was recently released on Youtube you can see these close up and more of an explanation. They are in fact fields for growing crops with an aquifer in the center. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jqxENMKaeCU
