Nvidia Says They Won’t Screw Up Windows 7 Launch Like They Did Vista

Remember how badly Nvidia’s drivers screwed up the Vista launch? They’re so confident they won’t mess up Microsoft’s Windows 7 launch, they’re issuing press releases NOW touting how ready they are. [Yahoo via ZDNet]

They are probably setting themselves up making promises like that…

But, their Vista drivers are great now (though they were absolutely terrible when Vista shipped). Windows 7 is basically Vista under the hood (though it’s not stable for me when I couldn’t get Vista to crash if I tried). I’ve had almost no graphics issues on my two Windows 7/nVidia graphics machines, and I play games. I’ve had the occasional graphics driver crash, but Windows 7 is less stable than Vista in general, and I expect that will change before release.
