‘Nothing Good Has Come From the Internet, Period.’

“I’m a guy who doesn’t see anything good having come from the Internet. Period.” That bit of insight is from Sony Pictures CEO Michael Lynton, who clearly has not seen the Bacon Explosion. [WWD via beebeejee]

what is he talking about? for instance through the wonders of the internet, we now all know he’s a wanker. It’s a service this. *begin rant* I mean i hate all this “web 2.0″ and “user created content” shit. I don’t hate that content is created by average joes from their bedrooms, this is what makes the internet. I hate the “app stores” and “community games” and facebook and myspace that make money thru doing NOTHING but encourage random douche bags to effortlessly add random pointless crap to the net, thinking they are “cool and hip” for doing it. when it was challenging to put stuff on the net, ppl only did it if they had something they really wanted to put on. (I am fully aware of any hypocrisy found in using an easy to use comment system to bash the net for how easy its become for ppl to put their opinions and crap that no one cares about on the net.)*end rant*

Anyway; news(giz), competitive shopping( you can browse all stores around the world without moving!) and ‘updates’ in general are just a few good things to come from the net.
And I suppose there has never been a sony pictures film promoted on the net MR Lynton?
