I believe this survey is missing one option, that many surveys like this really do miss. It’s the “I saw the pirated copy, and because of it I’m not going to see the film in the theater. However, I wasn’t planning to see it in the theater anyway.” This option is important because many people who download movies to watch wouldn’t really spend the money to go out and see it anyway. People in the movie industry always look at the sheer numbers, how many copies are pirated, but they fail to realize that many of these people who download movies wouldn’t have paid the money to either go to the movie theater to see the movie, or have rented it to go home and see it. Thus, they’re not really losing that much money, for the publicity that their movie receives from this.
Heard about deadpool being horribly altered in the movie and saw the screen shots. In this manner i guess piracy did make me less interested in the movie
