Nokia has quietly opened Ovi marketplace to the US and elsewhere, giving Symbian users the world over an app store to call their own. And from the looks of it, it’s a nice one. UPDATE: The web interface is attractive and easy to use, with a simple “Send to Mobile” button serving in lieu of a central transfer program like iTunes. App selection is fairly thin right now, with quick, easy repackaged content apps making up the bulk of the first wave, but there are some promising early signs, like the availability of mobile Wi-Fi hotspot and tethering apps, and somehow, there isn’t a single novelty fart app. Symbian users, let us know how it works in the comments.
We know it’s built like a real axe, looks like a real axe and costs like a real axe, but now we also know that the Logitech wireless guitar controller for PS2 and PS3 is available for Aussie Rock Band wünderkinds who need to take their game to the next level. Won’t be cheap, though…
If you own even the most basic of home theatre setups, you should own a universal remote control. We put them up against eachother to find out.

Its the Memorial Day long weekend over in the US, so there isn’t too much to actually wrap up from the overnight feed. So instead, here’s a video of a monkey eating flowers. Hey – it’s much better than the 100s of videos on YouTube of monkeys eating their own poop!
Apple’s WWDC 2009 is almost here. On the menu: Definitely Snow Leopard and a even-stronger-than-before focus on the iPhone OS, as the sessions schedule and the promotion materials show. What else? Here’s what I think is cooking.
I bought myself an original Mac 128K—the one from 1984—this weekend. I saw it on the streets of Williamsburg for $US35, almost completely new, and I couldn’t resist. Now I want to do something with it.
