Rumour: The Companies Really Building Your Next iPhone

DigiTimes has laid it all on the line this time. Skipping their normal incremental rumours, the publication has listed all of the companies allegedly associated with the next iPhone.

To be assembled by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company and subsidiaries, many of these components have been announced in previous DigiTimes stories, like the 3.2MP imaging sensor, but the biggest piece of the puzzle is still missing: Just who is building what processor is not mentioned.

However, I think I speak for everyone here when I say, thank god Foxlink is working on the connector again. That’s a load off.

DigiTimes expects the “iPhone 3.0″ to be launched “mid-2009,” with a shipment of 5 million units leaving Taiwan in May (leaving some padding before WWDC, when most of us expect the next iPhone[s] to be announced). [DigiTimes]
