Play FTW or Concede Defeat: What Would You Do In This Ethical Dilemma?

Here is the scenario: you are playing a video game (board game, foosball, nerf battle…whatever) vs. a sick 10 year old boy. What do you do?

I would definitely play to win, if someone beats me they can be sure they earned it. How much would it suck to think people were letting you win?

I’m not saying I’d do my best to demolish them, but I don’t go lying to people and that’s how I view letting people win.

With the limited description given, I’m not sure I even see much of an ethical dilemma to be honest. But, if I impose my own upon the topic and say that the boy is fatally ill and that this may be his last game ever – I assume that’s what Sean meant to say, because I really don’t see a dilemma otherwise – then I’d… well, I’d play how I play most of the time anyway: I’d relax, have fun with it, play the game how it’s meant to be played and see who wins.

But without assumptions and self-imposed details, this poll suffers from a terrible case of vagueness.
