This might seem like the dumbest thing ever, but my sister’s monitor was screwing up for the whole of tonight [doing this really weird Vista Aeroflip-esque thing with the display], so I just slapped the side of it really hard and VOILA
It goes normal again…after like 2 hours of adjusting the graphics properties and restarting to try fix it T__T
I’ve slapped many a crt monitor to get it to work properly, and amazingly – even to me – banging a laptop harddrive on a desk has brought it back to life several times (used as a portable drive, I can only assume the heads were getting stuck)
For many years I held the view that people who abuse electronic devices should be rounded up and put in Jail. That was until my 40Gb ipod started playing up 2 months out of warranty. After playing a couple of songs it would just start clicking. I look on the net for possible solutions and after trying them all found myself with the last documented solution – give it a whack on the side. Sure enough it sprang back into life. That was 2 years ago and the occasional whack gets it back into life every time.
It might not be a gadget, (even though im a happy gadget slapper) but half the dash lights in my lil ’95 barina don’t wok. That is unless you slap the dash hard.. every time you get in. It then works perfectly for the rest of the trip. Slapping = useful AND satisfying.
