At last… This is probably the most substantial upgrade to the iPhone software that we’ve seen. I am excited to see these upgrades as it addresses all of the concerns I’ve had with the phone.

I can’t complain anymore…. Now all they need to do is upgrade the memory in the phone to 32GB and i’ll get one tomorrow!!!!

I think its pathetic they are planning to sting ipod users. They know the demographio is potentially younger users who will make their parents pay, or pour their pocket money into itunes vouchers.. (iphone 3g user here) Boo @ Apple.

RE: Charging for the update on the iPod Touch. Apple has to charge for the update because of various accounting rules. Basically, Apple has already recognized the revenue for all these touches on their ballance sheet. And, per these accounting rules, they cant give it away for free (I am not an accountant so I dont know specifics).

Wow so now it does what phones have been doin for ages.. big woop. All they have done is bring basic phone features into play, and said a whole lot about possible 3rd part apps, and everyone gets excited? My old n95 did all the above and more….. This phone is ONLY for youngsters who may like to play games, any real tech head will buy HTC dream or winmo device.

I was recently in an apple store, and the sales guy told me that australian carriers are refusing to support version 3 of the OS. Something to do with network capabilities and how mms cannot be supported without major network restructuring? Really, its used on 90% of the phones out there i can’t see how the iphone could be any different…?

    Wow, really? really??
This should have been released with the bloody original, or ATLEAST released in 2.0, I’m not buying another one, I already sold my 3G. The games were fun and something to show off but I ended up getting a n96, which is fine for my needs, atleast it did all the above, not only that but file sharing only between other iPhones and iPod touchs?? that’s lame, and whats with the extra charge for iPod users?
