End of Rainbow Captured On iPhone Camera, No Pot Of Gold

6:20AM March 28, 2009 | Sean Fallon

Unfortunately, this gorgeous iPhone shot captured by amateur photographer Jason Erdkamp reveals that there are no leprechauns or pots of gold at the end of a rainbow—just SUVs. Bummer. [Mirror via Digg]

Sorry to break it to you but there actually isn’t such a thing as ‘the end of the rainbow’.
The ‘position’ of the rainbow depends on the observer’s location and the position of the sun as it is the result of rain droplets in the air refracting and reflacting the light from the sun

So sorry to “break it to you Eddie”, but I (along with my two children) have driven through a rainbow – as did the SUV in this shot. As the person going through it, I can tell you that you do actually experience a beautiful thing which cannot be explained, apart from saying that you move through that refraction in disbelief of what is going on around you. Whether you believe it or not Eddie is not my problem, but Sean Fallon, I thank you for capturing what I have experienced (from the inside out!). You have given me the outer image of my what I was inside of (which felt like magic). Thanks!
