"Is that true ? Or did you read it in the Herald-Sun" an old saying yet now more apt than ever.

I've been reading alot about the oncoming death of print media, and with articles as poor as the one in The Herald Sun, it's no wonder traditional newspapers are slowly dying.

The Herald-Sun article was straight out of Marketing 101.
Step 1: detail the "problem"
Step 2: present the solution
Step 3: profit!!!

NewsCorp is both the owner of the Herald-Sun and part owner of Foxtel.

So can we now get someone from the Sun Herald to go to every retailer and re-assure the customers who just purchased their new flat panel and are heading back into stores worried that they bought a dud that its ok? what about the loss of sales to these stores due to the planting of the seed of doubt? what about the TV manufacturers? instead of causing widespread mis-information, why not do something constructive and get either Freeview (or better still the Sun Herald) to publish a paper fully outlining what is needed, what will work, but explained in plain english. not everyone is a tech expert.

This is not surprising, actually. News.com, and in particular the Herald Sun, have shown themselves recently to be somewhat disconnected from reality. Just watch a few MediaWatch episodes for evidence. :-)

The only thing that surprises me is that you expected the Herald Sun to do anything about its errors.
