Apple’s OS X Snow Leopard Operating System Getting a Darker ‘Marble’ User Interface?

AppleInsider’s sources tell them that Snow Leopard, previously thought to only get under the hood upgrades, will get a new UI codenamed “Marble”.

It will supposedly feature flat dark scroll bars like those in iTunes (below).

AppleInsider also says the new OS will include a minimalist window design, as seen above, with translucent black-glass headers. I am a fan of these minor UI upgrades that somehow imply freshness. [Appleinsider]

Hmm. Kind of looks like the theme/style that is currently used for MobileMe gallery.

It looks cheap and nasty, especially with the bright traffic light buttons and cloudiness. I love OS X now, it looks clean and professional! This might do if they make it at least a bit like Leopard.

I think that os x 10.5 was a step backwards in the GUI we lost al the glossy/glass buttons and the stainless steel, only to have it replaced with boring Grey on DARK Grey and i think 10.6 is going to be another huge step backwards to the days of windows 95 blandness whats next Black and white with a res of 400×600 i think its time for Apple to start looking at what microsoft is doing with Windose 7 if nothing else at least its nice to look at !!!

This rumor was going around just before 10.5 came out only then it wasn’t called “Marble” but “Illuminous”.
