The F35 has only ONE engine which means if it has a mechanical failure or is shot out we lose BOTH pilot and plane !! If the US renegs on the F22 for Australia we should seriously consider the top Russian types...anyway why not put ourselves in a position of improving our trade relations with Russia, afterall they have been our allie in the past as well !
