Bah! Bring back NetNEUI I say.

eitehr that or remove alll layers of this “freindly” networking and just have the settings from Windows 2000 left. at least then you know what each tickbox does (who the hell knows what a homegroup is anyway?)

I have a PC and laptop; the pc is connected to a wired linksys router and that is connected to linksys wireless router. Unless I connect the laptop to the wireless router, the homegroup only shows a computer in the homegroup on the laptop; if the cable is connected, both machines will show the “contents” of the homegroup. Workgroup names and passwords for both machines are the same and network discovery is on and sharing permitted. Without tearing down and redoing the network from scratch, how do I fix the problem? Or is it not possible to use a wireless network for “homegrouping”? I’m sure something simple is at the heart of this but no wizard has pointed out accurately what’s wrong and I’m not very knowledgable about networking.
