We’re inundated with stats about everything from babies dying to pounds of pizza eaten, but what does all that stuff actually look like?


A site called So_Many_A_Second explores the simple idea of showing us what X somethings per second looks like through a simple but effective flash animation.

Our lead image is a still grab of what the world’s 27 mobile phones produced per second looks like, but the site offers us a few other examples (like cars produced and computers sold), plus you can enter your own data for unique visualisations.

It’s pretty much the perfect reason to pad an extra five minutes into your lunch break. [So_Many_A_Second via VSL]
