It’s a shame that the 24-120mm sucks so hard, almost as if it was designed to be crappy.
Also, you forgot to mention that the D700’s flash can be used as a Master to trigger a Slave external flash.
I think 5d MKII is far much better than d700 it’s different class camera
Bought the 5D Mark II this week and did some shooting. Last camera was a Canon 30D. I am ~very~ satisfied with the images I’m getting. The autofocus is plenty fast. 4FPS is good enough for anyone. If you have a bag full of Canon lenses, don’t go selling them to buy a Nikon… because the 5D2 is a fantastic creative tool to say the least…
Am sure the Canon is a fantastic camera but based on your ISO 6400 shots above, the D700 renders the better pic. It is crisper with better background detail although underexposed relative to the Canon. Not sure where the Canon’s megapixel advantage has gone as its not evident here. If I needed to use one of these pics, it would be the D700
