Win One Of 10 Vinyl Design Wall Stickers
Look around your home: does the same drab colour stare back at you? Does the lack of interesting, engaging artwork drive you to depression and anxiety? Well, as we showed you last week, it doesn’t have to be that way. Australian company Vinyl Designs is partnering with Giz to give away 10 of their retro wall stickers so you guys can create art on your very walls! To enter, all you have to do is tell us which of the Vinyl Design’s retro designs is the best and why (hit the link to check them out). And to make it interesting, lets have responses in the form of a rhyming couplet.
Entries close 5pm next Monday (Feb 2, 2009) and winners will be announced on the Tuesday (Feb 3).

nothing will beat that cube of frustation
tempted to pull it apart in humiliation
you didn’t solve it, you only pretend
its probably better you gave up in the end
I think the barcode wall sticker is the best.
It really is better than the rest.
The contrast hits you hard.
The retro effect leaves you scarred.
And the modern feel takes you off guard.
I think the Invaders is the best.
It takes me back to good old days of the 80’s waiting for your fish & chips and playing Space Invaders. The sound speeding up as you closer to the last invader, then the haunting sound of the UFO flying across the top.
True Classic.
Invaders for me is solid gold,
even though it makes me feel old
My favourite by far is Pacman and Blinky
It’s no lie, I swear with my pinky
It will look grand upon my school locker
As Pacman would say, “wocca wocca wocca”
the only way i’ll solve the rubiks cube
is to peel all the stickers off like a noob
and attach it where they should be
and hope no one with ever see
space invaders is clearly where it’s at
to spice up the lounge of my new habitat
defending the fireplace from the alien hordes
the colours will complement our timber floorboards
I’ll blast away those aliens with my fancy shuttle
no doubt my girlfriend will stick up Bubbles as rebuttal
who am I to complain either way
they all look great at the end of the day
But the Conditions value the prize at 28 bucks
I guess I’ll have to choose something not as deluxe
of the cheapies it’s obvious falling blocks is the winner
bright and cheerful no doubt it will distract me from dinner
The falling blocks are so rad
now wall clocks look real bad
they’ll make my place look all fancy
so maybe with the ladies I’ll have a chancy.
Falling blocks before the eyes
in colourful hues and dyes
bring joy and smiles with their tetris aesthetic
but stationary hide my skill level- pathetic.
While falling bricks are really cool
Space Invaders this comp does rule.
An opportunity for fun does present,
I can tell you why in a single moment.
My housemate’s head will truly spin,
when I change the scene at a moment’s whim.
Where once was three, nay four, Alien craft to end,
will now be six or eight or ten.
Look again a few days later,
ten will be nine or seven or eight, err
Perhaps this prank requires too much thought,
and after all, it will come to naught.
Stickers will go up and there they’ll stay,
though I will admire them for many a day.
Blinky and Pac-Man,
Enjoying cat and mouse
Suspiciously taking performance pills
On the insipid walls of my house
Nothing beats classic pacman. Not only does it go well on the wall, it even goes well on your laptop and adds some retro class and design.
im not really sure which one to choose, as there all pretty dope and i don’t want to loose.
but i guess if it had to be one it would be falling blocks mainly becuase it doesn’t suck cocks.
Who didn’t love the invaders?
Oh Jill didn’t, but I hate her.
I would be a little bit of spite,
but put them in my room I just might.
Do I really have to choose?!
This comp is giving me the blues
I have a sneaking suspicion I’ll lose
…but here goes:
Space invaders are in this season
so listen up and hear my reason
its the only game in his-to-ry
where you shoot through your shields for vic-to-ry!
falling Block turn flip
colour fling drop slip
dang no, stupid space
escalate to frantic pace
‘Cause I’m old enough to remember that far backa
I need Pacman on my laptop – waka waka waka!
the retro cube does it for me
even though rubiks are my enemy!
referred to as the rubiks cube thereupon
it was originally known (in simpsons) as a frink-a-hedron
the cube, the puzzle that is rarely complete
frustration’s a plenty when the colours aren’t neat
who needs algorithms you,ve got it for sure
but you said that already, two days before
Hours you spend on this endless pain
until you’re sure you’re completely insane
In anger you send it sailing into the bin
ten minutes later its back and you go FTW
I dream about bubbles in the colour blue,
An aquatic relation to my creeping mildew.
circles circles everywhere
circles circles next to chair
pacman pacman eating dots
pacman pacman next to clocks
also: i love lamp
Those lovely blocks take me back,
to my past and that’s a fact.
“Pacman and Pinky Wall Decal” is my pick as one of their best designs, it combines the retro gaming icon that we all know and love with practical minimal design, not depecting an entire game board or taking a great amount of wallspace yet still appearing to be quite a conversation peice and tidy design. Wocca Wocca
It’s Pacman and Blinky that I do adore
“Wakka Wakka”, I’d hear as I walked through the door
And ‘twould every day bring a smile to my face
To hope that someday Pac would give up the chase
And let Blinky go, be content with the pills
But I fear Pacman’s stomach can never be filled
It’s lucky, I ’spose (and here comes the kicker)
That this “Pacman and Blinky” is nought but a sticker
I love the bubbles to bits,
because they all look like kinda retarded tits.
